Privacy Policy for mobile apps

Last updated: 17 October 2026

This policy explains what information my apps and games collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to every app published by Mark Hughes (markhughestech) on Google Play and the Apple App Store, on Android and iOS, including any apps released after the date above. Where an app does something specific, it is listed in the app-by-app table at the end.

I am an independent developer based in the United Kingdom, and I am the data controller for the information described here. You can contact me at support@markhughes.tech.

The short version

Services my apps use

These companies process information on my behalf or as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.

Ad mediation means other ad networks may compete to fill an ad. They receive the same kind of advertising and device data described above, under their own policies. I will add any network I enable directly to this list.

Ads and your choices

My apps are free because they show ads. You decide whether those ads can be personalised to your interests.

I never show ads in a way that pretends to be part of the game, and I don't receive information that identifies you personally from ad partners. I only receive totals, such as how many ads were shown and what they earned.

Legal bases and where you live

UK and EU (UK GDPR and EU GDPR). I rely on these legal bases:

PurposeLegal basis
Personalised adsYour consent, which you can withdraw at any time in the app
Non-personalised ads, fraud prevention, ad measurementLegitimate interests in funding free apps
Gameplay analyticsYour consent, which you can withdraw at any time in the app
Leaderboards, player ID, saved statistics, linked accountsPerformance of the service you asked for
Settings saved on your deviceNot personal data sent to me; stored locally to make the app work

United States (including California and other states with privacy laws). I do not sell personal information for money. Sharing advertising data for personalised ads can count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some state laws. Declining personalised ads in the app opts you out, and the app then tells ad partners not to sell or share your data.

International transfers. My service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. They use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or data privacy frameworks where the law requires them.

How long data is kept, and deleting it

To delete your data:

  1. In apps that offer it, open Settings and choose Delete my data. This permanently deletes your player account, saved statistics and linked sign-ins, asks Unity to delete any gameplay analytics, and clears everything saved on the device. Scores you already posted stay on the leaderboards under the name shown there until the board resets; email me to have all-time entries removed.
  2. Or email support@markhughes.tech with the app name and, if you can, the player name shown on the leaderboard. I will delete it within 30 days.
  3. For data held by ad partners or Google Play Games, reset your advertising ID (see above) or contact them using the links in the services table.

Children

My apps are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country, such as 16 in some EU countries). I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used a leaderboard or other online feature, email me and I will delete their data. Parents can also turn off personalised ads and reset the advertising ID on a child's device as described above.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, object to or restrict how it is used, and withdraw consent. Email me and I will reply within 30 days. Because my apps don't collect your name or email, I may ask for your player name or advertising ID to find your data.

In the UK you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. In the EU you can contact your local data protection authority.

Security

Information sent online travels over encrypted connections and is stored by the providers listed above. No system is perfectly secure, but I keep the data collected to the minimum the apps need.

Changes to this policy

I will update this page when my apps change what they collect, and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's store listing or release notes.
